Volunteer with DCKickball at the DC Green Festival posted by constitution on October 27th

Green Fest DCKickball is volunteering at the DC Green Festival on Saturday November 8th from 9:00AM to 1:30PM and we want you to come help. The DC Green Festival is a huge gathering of everything that’s new in sustainability, alternative energy, and education on how to live a greener lifestyle. Organizations and business come from around the world to conduct lectures, sell products such as organic beer and whine, conduct workshops, watch documentaries, sample international vegetarian cuisine, and listen to music. DCKickball needs volunteers from 9:00AM to 1:30PM Saturday November 8th to help on the Green Team. We will be helping to educate visitors on the efforts of the Green Festival and also encouraging people to dispose of any recyclables properly. Volunteers will receive:

  • A free pass into the festival all weekend ($15 value)
  • A free T-Shirt
  • A free reusable shopping bag
  • 10% Discount on Any Green Festival Merchandise

The Green Festival is taking place at the Washington DC Convention Center (easily accessible by metro)

END-OF-SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFFS

  • WHERE: The Mall [See Map]
  • WHEN: October 25th, 2008
  • TIME: Starts at 12:30pm for the top 16 teams
  • WHAT YOU NEED: Each team will be REQUIRED to submit FOUR people to referee games. All referees are required to appear in time for the start of the FIRST game. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided.

Theme: HALLOWEEN—best costume gets a prize!

Drumroll please….we’ve reserved the WHOLE brewery for our last party of the year. So come, bring all your friends, and throw down DCK-style!

This will surely be our best party yet – in addition to having the whole bar, ,b>we will also have an open bar featuring ALL beers and rail liquor. Note that ODB has 15 of its own beers on tap …. done deal, right? If you’ve never heard of ODB, it’s DC’s first micro-brewery…and it’s awesome. Don’t forget that the party is Halloween-themed…so wear a costume! Best costume wins a prize…

The cost will be $10 for DCK members and $20 for non-DCK members. A steal.

Additionally, we will be raffling for charity! All proceeds will go to Kicking For Kids Who Can’t (http://kickingforkidswhocant.org/). If you or your company is able to provide anything for “donation” to the raffle, please contact Anna at anna.fisher1@gmail.com. Raffle tickets will be $1 each or $5 for 6 tickets.

About Kicking for Kids Who Can’t: Kicking For Kids Who Can’t is an event held on the National Mall in Washington DC. This event helps raise money for children who are adapting to life with limb loss. All money raised from this event goes to Limbs for Life, a Non-Profit Organization 501©3, which helps provide assistance to individuals who have suffered limb loss. The money raised from Kicking For Kids Who Can’t will be allocated for children.
